This program is intended for people who are or aspire to become supervisors or line managers at any level.

The program is designed to equip learners with the competencies required to:

  • Set performance goals and measures
  • formulate performance and development plans
  • monitor and evaluate performance and
  • handle poor performance



On completion of this program learners will be able to:

  • Set performance goals and measures that are measurable, clear, achievable and aligned to organisational objectives and legislative requirements
  • Set developmental objectives that are aligned to individual career paths
  • Establish performance standards in accordance with the business plan and organisational requirements
  • Set up performance monitoring systems in relation to organisational requirements
  • Monitor and measure the achievement of objectives
  • Apply performance evaluation techniques that are valid, current and sufficient
  • Give feedback to address competence gaps and poor performance, recognise good performance and revise performance goals
  • Coach and cousel individuals that are not performing to standard Present recommendations for performance improvement in order to effect changes
